TEACHERs vs STUDENTs
Who won? What happened?
The game took place at Downey Park on Friday May 9th. The students were pumped and ready to face the big strong teachers. There were four quarters of excitement and enthusiasm. Although the teachers might have had the lead in most of the quarters, it was an intense and close game. In the end, the teachers came out victorious, with the final score of 29-22.
Before the game Mr. Arreola pulled his hamstring and said, and I quote "you guys are LUCKY I can't play with my pulled hamstring." (Yeah right Mr. Arreola, we know you couldn't handle us!) Later the whole student team finally arrived to Downey Park, once both teams arrived they warmed up by shooting and practicing on the court. In the first quarter, the teachers and students went back and forth and were making baskets left and right. Players were subbed in and out. Overall, it was a very fun, strong, and intense game.
Maybe even better than a Lakers Vs. Clipper game. Yeah I went there. Thanks Mr. Jackson, for making this game possible. Without you coaching us, we would not have had the opportunity to play with such dignity.
In the second quarter there were a lot free throws missed by Mr. Milius, but who can blame him? He was just to tall for the game =) Meanwhile, they subbed in several different teachers and students! Both teams were working hard to keep possession of the ball and during the last seconds of the quarter, both Mr. Denny and David threw themselves in to get the ball and the quarter was over just like that!
Some say there was cheating, some say it was a close call, but the reality is, the teachers only won because we let them! Or maybe because they have 10 plus years of experience! Relax, we're just playing!
- Overall, we loved every minute of the game. A chance to play with our teachers and leap staff, a chance to bond with them, a chance to see a different side of them. It really made us feel special.
